Draftmount

Privacy policy

What Draftmount collects, what it doesn’t, and how to reach us. Short version: your writing stays in your browser, and we don’t sell anything about you.

Effective 7 November 2026

Your writing stays in your browser

The writing page on draftmount.com and the beta studio save what you write in your browser’s own storage on your device. It isn’t sent to Draftmount.

That also means it doesn’t follow you to another browser or device, and clearing your browser’s site data for draftmount.com deletes it. Download anything you want to keep.

When you visit the site

Draftmount is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes ordinary technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Draftmount doesn’t run advertising, tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this site.

Your Draftmount account

Accounts use Firebase Authentication, a Google service. When you create one, Firebase stores your email address, a securely hashed password (we never see the password itself) and a user ID, and processes sign-in details such as your IP address to keep accounts safe.

We use your email address to run your account: sign-in, password resets and messages about your access. We don’t send marketing email.

When you enter a beta code

We check the code against the codes we’ve issued. We store only a one-way fingerprint of each code, not the code itself.

When a code works, we link it to your account: we record your user ID, your email address, which code was used, when, and when that access ends. The Draftmount team can see that record so we can manage the beta.

To stop people guessing codes, we count attempts using a keyed, one-way fingerprint of your IP address. We never store the IP address itself.

We then set one cookie, called dm_session, that keeps you signed in to the studio. It’s needed for the studio to work and isn’t used for tracking or advertising.

When you email us

If you write to support@draftmount.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it to help you and keep it only as long as we need it for that.

Please don’t send passwords or payment details by email.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell personal information, use it for behavioral advertising, or share your writing with anyone.

Coming later

Cloud storage and paid plans aren’t available yet. Before either launches, this policy will be updated to explain what it collects and why.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email support@draftmount.com and we’ll help. We may need to confirm the request is really from you.

You can delete your account by emailing support@draftmount.com from the address you signed up with. You can remove the dm_session cookie and your saved writing at any time by clearing draftmount.com’s data in your browser settings.

Children, changes and contact

Draftmount isn’t aimed at children under 13. If you think a child has given us personal information, let us know and we’ll delete it.

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change with it. Questions: support@draftmount.com.
