Terms of use
The rules for using draftmount.com and the Draftmount studio. Short version: your writing is yours, be decent, and keep a backup.
Agreeing to these terms
By using draftmount.com, the writing page on it, or the Draftmount studio, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Draftmount.
Your writing belongs to you
Everything you write in Draftmount, including chapters, notes, character profiles and titles, stays yours. Using Draftmount gives us no ownership of your work and no right to publish it.
During the beta, your projects are saved in your own browser. They aren’t uploaded to Draftmount, so we can’t read them, back them up, or recover them for you.
You’re responsible for having the rights to anything you paste or import.
The beta
Draftmount is in beta. Features will change, some will move around, and you may run into bugs. Access to the studio needs a beta code, and the Beta program terms explain how codes work.
Please keep copies of anything you can’t afford to lose. The studio lets you download your chapters, and we recommend doing that often.
Using Draftmount fairly
Please don’t try to break into, overload or get around the security of Draftmount; share, sell or publish beta codes unless we’ve told you a code is meant for a group; scrape the site; reverse engineer the software except where the law allows it; or use Draftmount to break the law or harm other people.
We may suspend access, including by switching off a beta code, if these terms are broken.
Draftmount’s own work
The Draftmount name, logo, design, software and the text of this site belong to Draftmount and its licensors. These terms let you use Draftmount; they don’t transfer ownership of it.
Plans and payments
The store is not open yet, so nothing can be bought on draftmount.com today. When it opens, the price, billing period and anything else you’re agreeing to will be shown before you pay. The Refunds and canceling page explains what to expect.
No guarantees, within the law
We build Draftmount with care, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, especially during the beta.
To the extent the law allows, Draftmount isn’t responsible for indirect or consequential loss, including lost writing, from using the site or the studio. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under laws that can’t be excluded.
Changes and contact
We’ll update these terms as Draftmount grows, for example when paid plans arrive. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
