Draftmount

Our stance on AI and creative ownership

As both a writer and an independent developer, this is something I care deeply about.

The writing is yours

Draftmount doesn’t use generative AI to write, rewrite or generate creative content, and I have no plans to introduce AI-generated stories or automated prose.

I believe the creative process belongs to the writer. Your stories, characters and ideas, and even the chapter you’ve rewritten seventeen times, are yours.

Knowing the difference

I also think it’s important to understand the technology we’re talking about.

Traditional spellcheckers, dictionaries, OCR, text processing and conventional automation are different from generative AI. They’ve been part of software for decades, and I’d rather explain what each one does accurately than treat every automated function as the same thing.

As Draftmount grows, I’ll keep documenting the technologies it uses, why they’re needed and how they affect the writing experience, in the Devlog.

Your manuscripts will never train AI

Your manuscripts will never be used to train generative AI models. Your creative work belongs to you, and respecting that ownership is a fundamental part of Draftmount’s philosophy. The privacy policy says the same.

Being open about it

I’m committed to being transparent about technical decisions, limitations and changes through the development journal. I want writers to feel confident about the tools they’re using and to understand what happens behind the scenes.

At the end of the day, Draftmount exists to give writers a comfortable place to create. The imagination, the storytelling and the words will always be yours.
